Merging professional and amateur knowledge of water.
The Off-grid Autonomous Water System is a series of 3 workshops consisting of a lecture/practical from a professional and an amateur water expert. The 3 workshop topics are Water Collection, Water Treatment and Water Storage/Use.
The final weekend is an open-to-public building session of a water system within the building premises, based on knowledge acquired.
The program highlights legitimacy of both professional and amateur knowledge. As local water regulations does not permit private individuals to build personal rainwater harvesting systems (although “rain collection for personal use” is permitted. e.g. in small buckets for cleaning or watering home plants), the workshops also indirectly questions the ownership of rain water in Singapore.
